I got a brand spanking new company. Well, it's not entirely my own, I got a fantastic businesspartner that made all this possible. Our name is Swedcard (LLC) and we make interesting cards for thoughtful people. Now in the beginning our line is small and hopefully business will take off so we can expand our line with more cards. We'll see what happens.

In august we were at the Minneapolis Mart (USA) to show our stuff and make sales and connections. It was great fun!

I'm also doing some work for Fria Ligan (check out their blog at http://www.frialigan.se/2011/vargmannen-ett-smakprov-ur-rollspelet-svavelvinter/ ) and their new version of the classic (swedish) RPG Svavelvinter. I might be able to post some of that art here later on.

Tribute (Celebration IV)

For a long time I had this painting wrapped up as a present just waiting for my dear mother to turn 60. And so, the 1st of June 2011, it finally happened. A couple of days after her birthday we were able to go and celebrate her and hand over the painting. It portraits her around 18 years of age, off course with a slight touch of fantasy as in most of my work.

This painting is a celebration of my loving and tender mother who, with her humble ways and guidance in right and wrong, raised me to be the the man I am today. She is a true shining star who still can give me direction when the night turns dark.

Long time with no updates. I guess life got in the way. Well, this is a pic that can be found in the latest Fenix magazine (Nr 2, 2011) along with another angel and a gameboard. In the magazine they´re B&W but I post it in colour. Enjoy!

Tribute (Celebration II)

The 16th of may my dear father turned 60. Yesterday (may the 22:nd) I finally got the time to go and spend time at my old stomping ground with my family and celebrate my father. One of my gifts to him was this painting portraying him in a fantasy manner. Sprung from an ordinary background with an ordinary upbringing and occupation he inspired me during my own toddler-years and adolescence and was (and still is) my peronal hero. To me ha can do anything and overcome any obstacle. A true hero, both in fantasy and real life.

Celebration

One of my absolute closest and dearest friends is about to turn thirty, and last night we (me and my familiy) participated in a celebration in her honour.

Our gift to her was the digital painting of her posted above. It is done in photoshop with an Intuos 3 Wacom tablet and then printed on canvas. Posting the painting on my blog and the www is another way of celebrating her and our friendship.

Here´s an illustration that I completed just a week ago after a one day deadline from my friends at Gillbring Grafisk Design HB in Stockholm. The illustration is to appear in an educational book/pamplet/booklet under the section of peoples valuations and fundamental standards.

I just realized that I had two illustrations that I can post here. They are both done for Mindless Gaming KB but for two different RPG/adventure games. The B/W is for En Grardé! and the other one is for a game in creation called TSH (Tysta Stadens Hjältar)

Stolen art

I have been informed that James Shipman and Outlaw press Inc. have used one of my art-pieces, “The Troll and the ravens” (done in 2005) for the cover of The Hobbit hole #13 Magazine without my permission and I have not licensed that piece of art to the publisher. There is a term for this kind of abuse and it is art-theft.

More than over 25 artists have been used by this pulisher in the same way without their approval by using unlicensed art on their products that infringe on the artists copyrights.

The discussion about copyright infringement by this publisher started and has been ongoing on this thread at RPGNet: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=483885

I'm not going to lie, I want to get paid! I also want this person to stop selling the products with my unlicensed art in them, whether through Amazon, Lulu or his own website, and for everyone to be made aware of his practices. And I want him to stop profiting from the art of fellow artists that he is using without a license or permission.

I know for a fact that the publisher is ignoring e-mails and moreover, Outlaw Press recently removed their e-mail address from their main site. If the publisher don't give in for our demands I'm pretty sure this may end up in a lawsuit.

I got a hold of a pic of the product where my art was featured and it's on display in the beginning of this post along with my private photos of the painting in question in different stages of creation.

New beginnings!

So, this is something completely new for me, blogging. Don´t ask me why ´cause I don´t really know why I´m doing this.

Honestly I´m not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers and programming shit. Therefore a blog seems pretty easy to maintain (compared to a homepage) when it comes to upload pics and illustrations to please the crowd. If there is any.

I´m thinking of doing a transition from homepage to blog but I haven´t made up my mind yet. If anyone is interested you can visit my old site; http://www.falckart.bravehost.com/ and check it out. For the time being It dosen´t work proberly but I might write a few lines if that changes.
